The Dashing Blades Motion Capture Dramatics division was happy to take part in the Vancouver Film School’s first-ever motion capture course early in 2005. Working with students in the new Game Design stream, Dashing Blades member Sebastien de Castell lead the class through the logistics of creating choreographed violence for video game cut scenes.

Students were excited to have the opportunity to not only write their own fight scenes and enjoy the mentorship of experienced fight designers in the process, but were also granted the unique opportunity to see their work come to life on the mocap stage as Dashing Blades action actors worked through their scripts in full gear.

This course marks the beginning of what will be a series of collaborations between Dashing Blades and the VFS Game Design program with more motion capture courses to come in the upcoming semesters.
